Brittany Whitby, M.Ed.

Brittany Whitby is the Director of Mathematics at DC Scholars Public Charter School. After spending nearly a decade working in K-12 education, working for traditional public schools, charter schools, and private schools, she has a track record of facilitating gap closing student growth. During her career, Brittany has served as Response to Intervention Manager, Math Interventionist, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Writer, and Elementary School Teacher. She is passionate about urban education and works to create positive learning environments and opportunities that support the growth of children and adults across her hometown of Washington, DC. Brittany has been recognized for her efforts in the classroom as Teacher of the Year for her charter school network, and her design and facilitation of math and science professional development sessions for teachers across DC Public Schools. During her time in DC Public Schools, she was recognized as a Highly Effective Educator. Brittany holds a BA in Psychology from Hampton University, an M.Ed in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with family and friends.
