Math Content Writer
Safiya O’Connor is a 10-year veteran educator and instructional coach in DC Public Schools. She currently serves as a 1st grade teacher and Math Instructional Coach for Kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers. Additionally, she formally sat on the Curriculum Innovation team in DCPS’ Central Office, where she works with teachers across the district to create online companions that support teaching and learning in mathematics. Safiya earned her Bachelors from the University of Virginia and her Masters in Education from George Mason University. She is currently working on her National Board Certification as an Early Childhood/Generalist.
